SUZDAL & VLADIMIR TOUR

8:00 am - Your English- speaking Resident Tour-guide will pick you up and take you to medieval town of Suzdal (220km, 3 hr drive).
12:00 pm - Lunch at the local restaurant with traditional Russian Cuisine
After lunch - Explore many remarkable riverside churches and monasteries dating from the 11th - 13th century, some of which are included in UNESCO World Heritage List as fine examples of ancient Russian architecture. Visit to the beautiful ancient churches, the former market square, the Kremlin, its grounds and the Cross Chamber, Nativity Cathedral and the Wooden Architecture Museum.
At the end of day you will be taken to the 'Pushkarskaya Sloboda' hotel, where you can get some rest and spend the night.
After breakfast - continue the City Ttour of Suzdal starting with a visit to the remarkable well-preserved St. Euphimius Monastery. The largest of Suzdal's many monasteries, St. Euthymius has a commanding position overlooking the town and river.
Spend a few hours exploring the numerous churches and museums inside the monastery, admire the view from outside the formidable walls or take a walk down to the Pokrovsky Convent for a magical 360 degree view of the town.
Late morning - take a 40 minutes drive to Vladimir for lunch.
After lunch - explore the town of Vladimir, one of the medieval capitals of Russia.
Tour takes you inside of the magnificent five-domed Assumption Cathedral where you can admire the famous painting of the great medieval iconographers Andrei Rublev and Daniil Chyorny.
Next - visit St. Demetrius Cathedral (XII century) that is notable for its noble form, ideal proportions and walls decorated with beautiful stone fretwork and more than 600 bas-reliefs.
And finally - visit the Golden Gate entrance into the Old Town of Vladimir. Built in 1164, the Golden Gate is a combination of battle tower, overgate church and triumphal arch and is considered a remarkable monument of Russian fortification architecture.
Return to Moscow (arriving around 9:00 pm).
